Celebrating Purim Hamanstaschen (Spice And Spirit By Esther Blau)

The world today seems to use Israel as a scapegoat for all their woes. The world press and the UN vilify Israel as an Apartheid State while all Israel is trying to do is save a tiny piece of Land for their homeland. They have been living there for more than 3,000 years and the so-called Palestinians came from all over the Middle East, mostly in the last 100 years.

This little piece of Land was deeded to the Jewish People by God Himself and confirmed by the United Nations in 1948, yet today the whole world is determined to fill that land with Muslims and drive the Jewish people into the sea. Nobody has done more for the so-called-Palestinians than Israel yet Israel never gets any credit for her kindness and patience. By the way I use the term “so called Palestinians” based on the statement by one of Arafat’s people who said “There is no such thing as a Palestinian People,” and he should know.

The world seems to think that wiping out the Jewish race will be the answer to all their ills, but the very opposite is the truth. God has said I will bless those who bless Israel and curse him that curses her. He has also said that He will judge those Nations who divide His Land, Israel. The United States under Hussein Obama has cursed Israel and divided the Land. Obama is the judgment of God on the United States. Impeach him or live with the consequences.

As in the Book of Esther, the Jews will win in the end because they are God’s Chosen People and God will bless them into Eternity.

After my article “Why did Jesus celebrate Chanukkah?” on December 14 last, I was asked by several readers why I did not offer information about ALL of the Biblical Feasts. So many people are returning to celebrating these feasts that an explanation of all of them is certainly needed. The Bible instructs us to celebrate these feasts perpetually and many find them vital in today’s world. I believe it would be more helpful to offer explanations of the feasts, not all in one article, but just before the time of the feast comes.

The Feast of Esther (Purim) begins on Saturday night at sundown and lasts just 24 hours. It is the story of a Jewish girl in Persia (now called Iran) who became Queen of that land and saved her people from total destruction by a wicked man named Haman.

For no apparent reason, Haman, a high official in the Persian court asks the King to kill all the Jews in the Kingdom and the king puts his Royal seal of approval on the matter. But timing is everything. The king’s leading wife Vashti refuses to dance at the king’s party and is banished. This leads the king to call for a competition in all the 127 provinces of his kingdom to find a replacement. Hadassa is chosen to be his new leading wife and has her name changed in the process to Esther. Now Esther devises a way (with the help of her uncle Mordecai) to change the King’s decree to kill all the Jews. In the end Haman is hanged on the gallows he prepared for the Jews and God’s People are saved.

Just as God vindicated His People in the day of Esther, so He will today. It is for us to be sure we are on the side of God. He is in control in these last days and He will show His Almighty Power. Read more here.
